About Us
aQweleywaabii is a Ghanaian brand creating locally crafted corporate and ready-to-wear clothing for the everyday woman. At the heart of the brand is the desire to educate and uplift: support women to chase their dreams, encourage them to hold space for each other and to equip the youth with vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
Our Brand Story
Founded in 2017 by Sandra Akweley Martey, a creative and vocational skills advocate, the brand was born out of the founder’s personal journey to empower herself at one of the lowest points in her own life. Learning to use her creative skill to create products people loved boosted her self-confidence, and earned her an income when she had nothing else to fall back on.
Through the trial and error of building a business, she eventually crafted a niche in the market for her brand. One that formed the foundation for the brand’s passion to clothe women forward in their endeavours while investing in the youth. Since then, the brand has trained and supported many young women with vocational skills and plans to hold larger training sessions to equip as many people as possible and eventually change lives.
